Young Investigator Awards

 

To be considered eligible, applicants must be at an early stage of their career and preferably enrolled in a higher degree (or just submitted). Applicants must complete a declaration form (see below) and fax to the Congress Secretariat, with the abstract title and research supervisor listed. This form must be signed by the research supervisor. There will be two categories, clinical science or basic science research. The nominated abstract (only 1 per presenting author) will be ranked and a maximum of 4 for the Basic Science section and 4 for the Clinical Science section will be selected for presentation. The presenting author should be the first author and she/he should primary driver of the research presented. To be considered for this award, the presenting author must be a financial member of the ANZSN. The abstract will be presented as an oral presentation.

Please note that each presenting author can only nominate for one prize in the Young Investigator Award category, and only one abstract can be nominated for either of these prizes.

Best Science Awards

  1. Kidney Health Australia Clinical Science Award

  2. AMGEN Basic Science Award

The highest ranked best clinical science and basic science abstracts will be presented in these sessions. Awards are open to all registrants, regardless of the phase of their career. To be considered for this award, the presenting author must be a financial member of the ANZSN. The abstract will be presented as an oral presentation.

All abstracts will be scored and the authors of the highest ranking abstracts will be notified in advance.

Additional Awards Presented at the Annual Dinner

Rural Award – Sponsored by AMGEN

The best abstract or abstracts presented by an author from a regional or rural area. Nominees must be members of ANZSN and the rural group, and the research must have been initiated when residing in a rural area.
